For two days, Israel has launched a massive terrorist attack on neighbouring Lebanon, resulting in dozens of deaths and thousands of injuries, including young children and civilians. The transformation of common household appliances into deadly bombs has no military objective, other than to terrorise the population in a country that has suffered immensely from Israel’s aggression for decades.
As part of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, alongside their heroic and unwavering resistance, Israel is attempting by any means necessary to drag the entire region into a wider conflict involving the U.S. and its allies. The only thing it achieves with its constant and indiscriminate aggression is to reveal the racist, colonialist nature of Zionism, further justifying the Palestinians’ struggle against occupation and apartheid in their homeland.
Let us consider how the West and its media would react if hundreds of bombs exploded in crowded streets, supermarkets, hospitals, and cars in any other country. The immunity Israel enjoys from the West is scandalous and makes them complicit in the crimes against all the people of the region. This is the “strategic” partner of our country according to Foreign Minister Dendias. This is the country “sharing common values with Greece” according to former SYRIZA Minister of National Defense, Evangelos Apostolakis. We say it loud and clear, the political, economic, and diplomatic relations with the terrorist state of Israel are a stain on the country’s foreign policy that will haunt it for decades.
We wholeheartedly stand with the people of the region fighting against the most brutal form of occupation and military, terrorist violence. We demand an immediate cease of all diplomatic, political, and economic cooperation with the state of Israel. No involvement of our country in the genocide against the Palestinian people.
